It really did start out well, different than any movie that I had seen like it to date. The concept was really great too.
The only problem I had with the movie was the part played by actor Johnny Arthur. Everything about this guy grated my last nerve. I need to see another movie with him in it so I can find out if I don't like him as an actor or just the character he is playing in the movie (Mr. Wood's Secretary).

One of my favorites. A dark and stormy night, drafty mansion, secret passageways, female screams, a psycho on the loose, and 1930s humor - this movie is timeless. I'd hope for a remake but Hollywood couldn't do it justice. Thanks for the upload!

This type mystery is the BEST! The dark old mansion, a lot of secrets. Maybe, if I am a good girl, a ghost or three, plus a few skeletons.

Archive is amazing and I donate when I am able. This is my only access to see Classic movies.

i haven't seen a film with peep holes in the eyes of a huge portrait yet that isn't somewhat goofy, and this one certainly fits that bill. a mansion with halls wider than my office it is something to behold and it only lasts an hour..

be warned. it won't improve your mood much, but at least it doesn't detract if you don't expect anything.
